Woodworking Plan: Sawtooth Desk

Looking for a project with a refreshing twist? Here’s a completely out-of-the-box approach to building a desk.

The top is a massive slab of gorgeous Spanish cedar with a decorative edge, but this project is really “all about the base.” The base features flowing lines and large floating tenons that are made with a contrasting wood species to showcase the joinery.

You’ll learn some new tricks such as using a spindle sander to shape a curvaceous profile, milling mortises with a multi-router, and incorporating large floating tenons into a design. There’s no doubt that this piece will get handed down through the generations!
