Did You Know You Could?

Jimmy DiResta
Duration:   5  mins

This was fun to do!! Jimmy Diresta and George have both been woodworking for a LONG time and, as a result, have developed some unique techniques over the years. Check it out.

This is your opportunity to see:

  • Creating rabbets on a jointer
  • Making a wooden spring
  • Turning brass on your wood lathe
  • Cutting a tenon on a miter saw
  • Cutting aluminum on your table saw
  • Make a shop-made sanding block

All cool stuff, plus there’s a lot of fun back and forth between Jimmy and George. Be sure to have a look at all of Jimmy’s videos on WWGOA.

If you guys haven't already done a part 2, you totally should! This one such an enjoyable watch.

Your algorithm that screens out potentially inappropriate words does not allow the name of the metal (starting with br) used in the wood lathe in your demonstration. It's an alloy of copper, zinc and usually lead. Because that 360 br... contains 4% lead, handwashing after handling it is recommended.

One should use eye protection (preferably a face shield) when cutting anything on a table saw (especially metal!). One should use eye protection when turning anything on any type of lathe. One should use eye protection when drilling, grinding, brushing or power-polishing metal.
